A stunning 1970s hand dyed caftan by Halston in a delicate sheer silk chiffon. The body of the kaftan is dyed a rich shade of jade green with a horizontal band of deep green across the top. Floral accents reminiscent of water lilies accent both sides of the band. The caftan is rectangular cut with a button closure at the neck that can be worn to the front or to the back. The bottom hem of the caftan is cut with a slight curve, lending a perfect sheer and airy movement that is instantly flattering to all body types!
The caftan is one of the designs Halston is most famous for, with institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art holding similar pieces in their permanent collection. This a rare opportunity to own a piece of American fashion history!
