This 1960s handbag was designed when Coco Chanel was still at the helm. This chevron quilted kisslock closure frame bag is crafted in black fabric and features a Mademoiselle chain handle that can be worn as two shorter straps or as one long strap. The interior, crafted in Chanel’s signature red tone, consists of a central compartment with two open side pockets. It includes a hidden zipper compartment at front, a feature Chanel added to her bags so she could conceal her love letters from her affair with Arthur “Boy” Capel. The gold Chanel trademark stamp is present in the bag’s interior, although it has faded due to wear. Full provenance of the bag is available upon request.
Condition is good for a preloved handbag dating from the 1960s. The gold Chanel trademark stamp is present in the bag’s interior, although it has faded due to wear. There are no structural issues. Some evidence of wear is present on its edges.
